me, internally: why have i never seen a single goddamn fat girl in art nouveau? there are hundreds of art pieces featuring thin (usually white) girls and women with the same basic design elements and lots of fan works featuring female characters drawn in the nouveau style but even searching for “fat” and “plus size” nouveau turns up nothing. some of the central elements of the style are softness and roundness and curviness, which all describe so many fat girls but still no one has drawn fat nouveau girls with big curvy flowers and flowing drapey fabric and windswept hair!!! where are they! where are the fat nouveau girls!!! where!!!

It’s because when Art Nouveau was a thing people were seldom fat in general. In that age famines and plagues were still a thing in “developed” countries too.
